Crawl Space Dehumidification
Crawl Space Dehumidification - Professional Moisture Control Solutions for Your Home
Excess moisture in your crawl space can create serious problems including mold growth, wood rot, and poor indoor air quality that affects your entire home’s comfort and health. Our crawl space dehumidification systems provide precise moisture control using professional-grade equipment that removes up to 10 pints of moisture per 500 square feet while maintaining optimal humidity levels between 30-50%. If you’re experiencing musty odors, high humidity, or structural concerns in your crawl space, our dehumidification solutions can achieve up to 90% reduction in humidity levels while preventing the conditions that lead to mold growth and costly structural damage. Reed’s Home Solutions specialists understand that ground moisture naturally releases 2-3 pints of water vapor per 100 square feet daily, which is why professional dehumidification is essential for protecting your home’s foundation and air quality.
We provide complete crawl space dehumidification installation throughout Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Virginia using state-of-the-art systems that integrate seamlessly with your existing basement waterproofing and drainage systems. Our installation process includes thorough crawl space preparation, precise equipment positioning at least 6 inches above ground level, and proper electrical connections within 9.2 feet of grounded outlets to ensure optimal performance. We use professional-grade dehumidifiers with auto-humidistats for continuous operation and smart drainage integration that works with gravity or pump-based systems depending on your home’s configuration. Our dehumidification systems complement your basement waterproofing by working with vapor barriers, perimeter drains, and sump pumps to create a complete moisture control solution that protects your investment for decades.

Completion date: July 26, 2019
Location: Ripley, WV
Why did the customer contact us?
The homeowner in Ripley, WV was experiencing cold drafts and dampness in the home and reached out to us for assistance.
Solutions provided:
We found that the root problem was coming from the crawlspace. Our crew was able to provide multiple services to not only insulate the home from drafts, but to upgrade the crawlspace and prevent any further issues.
We sprayed mold treatment on all wood services. Dug trenches, laid pipe and installed a sump pump to remove water seeping into the crawlspace area. Laid down 20 mil cord reinforced liner over the entire crawlspace and sealed it at every seam. Sprayed a class II vapor barrier closed cell foam to the walls and around all edges of the liner which created a complete crawlspace encapsulation. We also installed a dehumidifier and a radon detection system.
This upgrade to this crawlspace not only solved the issue with the cold drafts and dampness in the home, it has also made the home more energy efficient and has provided a warmer more desirable environment.
